How long does it take for a nostril piercing to heal?
Most nostril piercings take around 4 to 6 months to fully heal. Healing time depends on aftercare, jewelry quality, and how much the piercing is left undisturbed.
What is the best jewelry for a new nostril piercing?
The best jewelry for a new nostril piercing is a flat-back stud made from implant-grade titanium or solid gold. These materials reduce irritation and support proper healing.
Can you start a nostril piercing with a hoop or ring?
While some nostril piercings can start with a hoop, most heal better with a stud. Hoops and rings tend to move more, which can lead to irritation during the healing process.
When should you downsize nostril piercing jewelry?
Nostril piercing jewelry should usually be downsized around 6 to 8 weeks after the initial piercing, once swelling has gone down. This helps improve comfort and reduces irritation.
When can you safely change a nostril piercing?
You should wait at least 2 months before changing your nostril piercing jewelry. Changing it too early can cause irritation and delay healing.
Can a piercer change my nostril jewelry for me?
Yes. If you are ready to switch your jewelry or want help choosing the right piece, stop by and we’ll help make sure it fits right and is changed safely.
Will a nostril piercing close if you leave jewelry out?
