Tattooing Minors at Z-edge

At Z-Edge Tattoo & Body Piercing, the safety, comfort, and informed consent of our younger clients are our highest priorities. Tattooing minors is strictly regulated in Florida, and we take those rules seriously—because protecting the client, the parent/guardian, and the integrity of the work matters.

That means we don’t treat a minor tattoo like a “quick appointment.” We treat it like a higher-responsibility service with extra checkpoints:

Clear, informed consent—no pressure. We make sure the minor understands what they’re getting, what it will look like long-term, how healing works, and what “permanent” really means. If anyone seems unsure, we pause and talk it through—or we don’t proceed.

Strict identity + guardianship verification. We verify required IDs and consent documentation, and we confirm that the legal guardian is present and authorized. If anything doesn’t match, we stop. No exceptions.

Appropriate design review. We evaluate placement, size, and design choice with long-term considerations in mind—growth, visibility, school/work implications, and how the tattoo may age. We’ll recommend adjustments when it improves safety or outcome.

Medical-grade hygiene and sterilization standards. Every procedure follows professional infection-control protocols: proper hand hygiene, barrier protection, single-use disposables where appropriate, and sterile tools and supplies handled correctly from setup to cleanup.

Artist discretion and ethical refusal. Even with paperwork, we reserve the right to refuse any tattoo that feels rushed, coerced, unsafe, or not in the best interest of the minor. That’s not us being difficult—that’s us being responsible.

Aftercare education that’s actually thorough. We walk both the minor and the parent/guardian through aftercare step-by-step, confirm understanding, and make sure you leave knowing exactly what normal healing looks like and when to reach out.

Our goal is simple: **every minor client should leave feeling respected, protected, and fully informed—**and every parent/guardian should feel confident that the decision and the procedure were handled with the highest professional standards.

Florida law requires notarized parental consent, proper identification, and the physical presence of a parent or legal guardian at the appointment.

If requirements are not met — including missing identification, incomplete paperwork, or absence of a parent/legal guardian — the appointment will be canceled and rescheduling will require a new deposit.
Our goal is to provide a respectful, professional experience for both minors and their parents or legal guardians.
