NOSTRIL PIERCING at Z-Edge Tattoo and Body Piercing
Looking for a professional nostril piercing in Sarasota, Venice, Bradenton, or the Gulfgate area? Z-Edge Tattoo and Body Piercing performs precision nostril piercings using implant-grade materials and sterilized, single-use needles.
Our professional certified piercers focus on proper placement, symmetry, and long-term healing success.
Available at all Z-Edge locations.
Nostril Piercing Placement & Symmetry
A nostril piercing is placed through the fleshy outer curve of the nose. Placement is customized based on:
- Individual anatomy
- Jewelry style preference
- Higher or lower positioning
- Future stacking plans
All placements are carefully marked and confirmed prior to piercing.
If you already have a nostril piercing and would like to add a symmetrical piercing on the opposite side, we carefully assess your existing placement, match needle angles, and align positioning to create a balanced result.
If you are planning double nostrils, having both marked and pierced during the same appointment allows for improved symmetry and more precise needle angle matching.
If you do not like the placement during marking, please discuss it with your piercer before proceeding. We encourage questions and professional input to ensure optimal healing and aesthetic results.
Nostril Jewelry Options
Nostrils are pierced with flat-back labret jewelry for stability during healing.
At Z-Edge, there is no “starter” jewelry. All jewelry we carry is high-quality body jewelry designed to be worn long term.
We offer:
-
Internally threaded implant-grade titanium
-
Threadless implant-grade titanium
-
Solid 14k gold
-
CZ stones
-
Natural stones
-
Lab-created gemstones
-
Genuine diamonds
-
Prong-set designs
-
Bezel-set designs
-
Micro labrets (flat backs)
-
Seamless hinge rings
All jewelry is nickel-free.
No stainless steel.
No externally threaded jewelry.
A hoop style for nostrils is a seamless hinge ring. Some piercers are comfortable starting with a hinge ring, while others prefer healing with a flat-back labret first. If you would like to start with a hoop, please mention this when booking so we can accommodate your request.
Size & Gauge
-
Standard starting gauge: 18g or 16g
-
Jewelry length intentionally longer to allow for swelling
We always pierce with longer jewelry initially to accommodate swelling and support proper healing.
Nostrils can also be pierced at larger gauges upon request.
Nostril Piercing Pricing
The nostril piercing fee is $40.
The piercing fee includes:
-
Precision placement and marking
-
A sterilized, single-use needle piercing performed by a professional certified piercer
-
Personalized consultation
-
Detailed aftercare guidance
Jewelry is sold separately.
Starting jewelry begins at $35 for an implant-grade titanium micro labret with a CZ stone.
Upgraded jewelry options such as 14k gold, natural stones, lab-created gemstones, and genuine diamonds are available at additional cost.
Downsizing
We recommend returning for downsizing at approximately 2 months to ensure the piercing is stable enough to change safely.
Downsizing reduces irritation, improves comfort, and supports long-term healing.
If you are not local, we sell jewelry and jewelry-changing tools on our website.
Just because a piercing is healed enough to change does not mean it should be left without jewelry for an extended period of time. Nostrils can shrink quickly.
Jewelry Maintenance
Body jewelry requires routine maintenance.
Threaded ends should be checked periodically to ensure they remain secure. Natural body movement, facial expressions, sleeping positions, and daily activity can cause threaded ends to loosen over time.
Threadless jewelry relies on tension to remain secure. If caught on clothing, towels, brushes, or other objects, threadless tops may be pulled out.
It is the client’s responsibility to monitor jewelry security and avoid snagging or pulling.
If you are unsure about fit, threading, or jewelry stability, we are happy to assist.
If jewelry was not purchased from Z-Edge, we cannot guarantee compatibility of replacement parts due to manufacturer differences in threading and sizing.
Nostril Piercing for Minors
In the state of Florida, minors must have a legal parent or court-appointed guardian present for body piercings.
Florida law requires a notarized minor consent form.
This form must be notarized prior to your appointment. We do not offer on-site notary services.
You may obtain notarization at Amscot, your bank, or UPS.
Download the required minor notarized release form here:

Failure to bring a properly notarized form will result in appointment cancellation.
Healing Time
Average healing time for a nostril piercing is 4–6 months.
Healing varies depending on anatomy, jewelry selection, and aftercare consistency.
Aftercare
We recommend using H2Ocean sterile saline spray for cleaning your piercing.
Aftercare instructions:
-
Wash hands thoroughly before touching the piercing
-
Clean twice daily with sterile saline
-
Do not twist or intentionally rotate the jewelry
Twisting or rotating jewelry traumatizes healing tissue. Think of it like disturbing a scab while it is healing — it disrupts the natural healing process. Natural movement is expected, but intentional spinning should be avoided.
-
Avoid makeup, lotions, or skincare products on or around the piercing
-
No pools, hot tubs, jacuzzis, beaches, lakes, or large bodies of water during healing
-
Showers are fine, but do not submerge

MRI, Surgery & Retainers
If you need an MRI, medical scan, or surgery, do not leave your piercing empty for an extended period.

We carry nostril retainers designed to maintain the piercing opening during medical procedures. Contact us prior to your appointment for sizing.
